Fans of EastEnders will be upset to find that the soap won’t be airing on BBC One tonight.
Tonight (Monday, August 21) there won’t be a new episode of EastEnders to make room for sports coverage.
The BBC soap opera generally airs Monday through Thursday at 7.30 p.m., but it is not scheduled for tonight.
Instead, starting at 7.30 p.m., the World Athletics Championships will be aired.
Fortunately, the tonight’s program is now accessible via BBC iPlayer.
For viewers without access to iPlayer, the episode will be broadcast live on Tuesday.
Tuesday night’s showing of two episodes of the soap opera will allow viewers to catch up on all the action taking place in Albert Square.
There won’t be a Wednesday night EastEnders episode either, but there will be two episodes of the soap on Thursday.
On the BBC soap opera, a lot is happening as Cindy Beale (played by Michelle Collins) makes her much anticipated comeback after 25 years.
Longtime viewers of EastEnders will recall that Walford residents believed she had died in 1998.
Cindy met George Knight (Colin Salmon) while in witness protection, where she later had two children.
Cindy is shown entering Albert Square in the explosive return of Cindy trailer before she visits Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).
She exclaims in horror when she sees Cindy come back from the grave, “You’re dead!”
As Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) listens, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) cautions him: “Cindy did always have a way of pulling the wool over people’s eyes.”
Cindy states: “It feels good to be back in Walford; it’s like I’m coming home!” at another part of the video.
