Coronation Street actor Luke Delaney has achieved a “soap hat-trick” by landing a compelling new role on Emmerdale. After portraying Dave Fairchild on Corrie, Luke is now set to make his mark in the Dales, having previously appeared in Hollyoaks.

On Instagram, Luke hinted at his latest venture with ITV, sharing a behind-the-scenes snapshot from a set. He captioned it, “New trailer, new character, same objective. Let’s go to work.”

Shortly afterward, Emmerdale confirmed the exciting news, posting an Instagram photo of Luke and announcing, “We’re thrilled to reveal that the talented Luke Delaney has joined us in a major guest role that will be on screen soon!

Though the details of his new character are under wraps, The Sun exclusively reports that he’ll be involved in an underground fight club storyline unfolding in the Dales.

Luke’s appearance on Emmerdale follows his recent departure from Coronation Street, where his character, Dave, played a significant role in Max Turner’s radicalization into a far-right extremist group. Reflecting on joining the soap at the time, Luke said he was “delighted.”

The actor is no stranger to villainous roles, having played a kidnapper to Maxine Minniver on Hollyoaks in 2021. His other credits include playing a police officer alongside Cillian Murphy in Peaky Blinders, as well as roles in Netflix’s Stay Close and Channel 4’s Cucumber.

A fitness enthusiast, Luke also enjoys spending time in the gym. Last year, he launched a new online health program, sharing with fans, “I’ve put a lot into this, and I’m excited to say we’re almost ready to go live! More details will follow in the coming weeks.”
