Chelsea will get some shocking information during the week of August 14–17; it might be a family medical emergency that requires her to go. It would be about fitting for Melissa to temporarily leave the scene as she had already given birth to her child. So, who would experience this medical emergency that would force Chelsea to leave town? It’s likely that Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) may experience some issues.
Since he hasn’t been seen in a while, Connor hasn’t exactly been himself. He found it difficult to get used to the idea of having a younger sister. It would be difficult for him to cope now that he knows his baby sister passed away before she was even born; perhaps Chelsea will take him to visit his grandmother Anita Lawson (Catherine Bach).

On the other hand, when Anita injured her hip a few years ago, Chelsea took Connor to be with grandma and assist during her recovery. Even if it were a shopping trip to Italy, it’s also possible that Chelsea travels for work, though that kind of information doesn’t seem all that shocking. Her leaving town seems like she received some unpleasant news, which could be a sign of further significant events involving Anita. Chelsea would undoubtedly want to spend time with her mother if Anita needed an operation to treat a more serious or perhaps deadly illness.
Whatever the stunning news is, Chelsea will likely be away from Genoa City for at least a few months as a result. Hopefully it won’t cause her mental state to deteriorate like it did when Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) dragged her away.
