Dev Alahan and Bernie Winter of Coronation Street have been dating slowly and getting to know one another, but things could be going south.
Jane Hazelgrove’s portrayal of Bernie Winter on Coronation Street may be about to drive Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) to the brink and endanger their relationship.
According to official teasers, Sunita Alahan’s (Shobna Gulati) anniversary is quickly approaching, and Dev is anxious, so Bernie will only make matters worse.
The Alahan family is joined by Bernie and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) for Sunita’s memorial supper in upcoming scenes.
Aadi watches his sister and confirms that Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) did receive her bracelet back when Dev inquires about it.
Bernie starts to claim it’s a human spirit until Asha observes a bubble of light hanging above her in a shot they just took.
Dev quickly shuts off her superstitions and ends the talk because she doesn’t want to consider that.
Later, Aadi observes that the image of him and Asha has been repositioned such that it now faces the image of his mother.
When the subject of ghosts is brought up once more, Bernie claims that Sunita’s ghost is present, but Dev rejects the notion.
Bernie presses on and informs Paul that Sunita’s restless energy was the reason the picture was moving.
Dev is furious and demands she explain to him what she stands to gain from her magical babble.
Has Bernie strained their bond too much?
Paul makes fun of Bernie in another scene as she strives to cultivate a spiritual atmosphere at home but worries that she could be going too far.
Since Paul discovered he had motor neurone illness and just had months to live, Bernie has been struggling.
In Shelly, a woman he met at his support group and who has been offering guidance on what is to come, he recently made a friend.
However, Bernie has frequently found a way to avoid it since she doesn’t want to consider her son’s impending death, even if Paul wants his family to meet her.
