Dan Spencer punched Lloyd Sawyer on Emmerdale, and he is currently fighting for his life. When the protective father discovered that Lloyd was following his teenage daughter Amelia Spencer, the violent attack took place.

The ITV soap opera Emmerdale is about to say goodbye to a popular family who desperately wants to stay together.

She believes they should flee, despite Dan Spencer’s (Liam Fox) best efforts to make plans for his daughter Amelia Spencer’s (Daisy Campbell) future.

She insists they can flee to Ireland in an effort to be together as a family despite his initial opposition to the proposal.

Amelia’s continued concern over the prospect of her father going to jail nearly results in harm to little Esther.

Dan is able to correct the problem, and as he observes her fear of his being imprisoned, he begins to consider leaving.

The next day, Dan confronts Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), pleading with him to assist his family in escaping England.

Dan quickly tells Amelia that their escape plan will go forward when Cain agrees, but she is not allowed to inform anybody else.

Despite her fear, Amelia is adamant about staying with Dan in spite of Cain handing them ferry tickets, an old car and a burner phone as departure options.

They part as a trio, sharing a sorrowful smile about leaving Emmerdale, but did they make the right choice?

Should Dan be held accountable for his one-punch offence?

Viewers of Emmerdale may remember that earlier this summer, during a quarrel, Dan attacked Amelia’s stalker, Lloyd Sawyer (Matt Sutton), leaving him in critical condition in the hospital.

Liam said the following about the impending storyline in an interview with Express.co.uk and other media: “He doesn’t originally want to do it, he doesn’t think it’s a good idea at all after discussing it with Amelia.

He simply believes there is no way out of this, he can’t bear the idea of living without his daughter and granddaughter, and he recognises he won’t be at all comfortable living in a prison. Therefore, it appears that his only choice is to flee.

Actress Daisy continued, “I believe she [feels guilty].” She obviously never anticipated anything like this to occur, especially because it is so unlike Dan.

“I believe Amelia has finally discovered a passion through which she can earn money, enabling her to support her father and purchase scrumptious meals for the week.

I believe that was a comfort for her, yet something so simple also became quite harmful.
