In upcoming Emmerdale episodes, Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) is held captive by Colin Hamston (Mark Noble), who accuses her of being to fault for all of his problems and confines her to a bedroom.

Laurel and Colin originally argued about her son Arthur’s (Alfie Clarke) participation in an assembly with a gay theme.

After that, Arthur and a young man by the name of Marshall became friends. Marshall piqued Arthur’s interest, but the other boy first came across as a bit of a bully with homophobic attitudes. It didn’t take long to realise that Marshall was Colin’s kid and that his bigoted father was cruelly mistreating him because he was gay while also making valiant efforts to hide his sexual orientation.

After Marshall bravely came out and defied his father, Laurel and Jai (Chris Bisson) gave him a place to stay, and a romance between him and Arthur quickly developed. Marshall recently made the choice to move out of the community to live with his aunt, which devastated Arthur.

It soon became apparent that Colin had Laurel and Jai to thank for the breakdown in his connection with his son, blaming them for ‘encouraging’ him to be homosexual. He steadfastly refused to accept responsibility for his own vile actions, which made Marshall want nothing to do with him.

After a few weeks, Colin’s opinion hasn’t changed at all. When Laurel visits to get Marshall’s passport, which was left behind, she quickly finds that Colin still holds her responsible for everything that transpired. Finally, after exhibiting increasingly ominous behaviour, he locks Laurel in Marshall’s bedroom without allowing her to use her phone.

Jai, Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), and Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) are back in the hamlet when they notice they haven’t heard from Laurel in a while. When they learn from Arthur that she was on her way to Colin’s, their anxiety increases.

Soon after, Jai receives a message on his phone that appears to be from Laurel and suggests that she has resumed drinking. Jai rejects the message’s message because he believes Colin is behind it.

When the police are called and show up at Colin’s, he is able to elude them.

As their concerns grow, Jai and Suni realise they must take matters into their own hands and set out to look for Laurel.

Are they going to reach her in time?
