The beloved actress announced the ‘bad news’ in a video announcement.
Ada Nicodemou, star of Home and Away and Logie candidate, has made an unexpected statement.
Despite being nominated for a Silver Logie award, the actress has informed fans that she will not be attending this year’s Logies on Sunday.
“How are you all doing?” I’m quite good… “Well, not so good because I’ve got some bad news,” she said in the Instagram video.
“Unfortunately, I will miss the Logies this year, which is unfortunate because I adore the Logies.”
“Especially this year, because I’m also nominated.”
Nicodemou is competing for the Best Actress Silver Logie with co-stars Lynne McGranger and Emily Symons.
Ray Meagher and James Stewart are vying for Best Actor Silver Logie, while Home and Away is up for Best Drama – an accolade it won last year.
“Unfortunately, I will not be there because I am on a family vacation, but thank you so much for voting for me and everyone else,” she continued.
“So please get behind Ray, Jimmy, Emily, and Lynne, as well as the show.”
“Make sure you continue to vote; voting is still open.”
“Make sure you also watch it. It’s on Channel 7, and I can’t wait until next year to attend and maybe wear an incredible dress.
“Have some fun!”
Nicodemou conveyed the news in a caption beside the Instagram video.
“Ciao Tutti, I’m sorry to inform you that I will not be attending the Logies this year.” I’m taking a break from socialising because I’m on a wonderful family vacation. Please support everyone at @homeandaway, tune in, and have a fantastic night. “#Logies,” she tweeted.
Nicodemou’s admirers and friends expressed their support in the comments section.
“Hello, honey. I’m missing you! I wish you were here, but I hope you’re having a fantastic time. Lynne McGranger, co-star, added, “See you in a few weeks.”
Also from the cast to comment was fellow nominee Emily Symons.
“Have a wonderful holiday with your beautiful family darling ♥️ we will miss you,” she said.
A fan said: “Hi Ada, I will miss seeing you on the red carpet. You are so stunningly beautiful I’m always excited to see what you’ll be wearing. But I hope you have a great holiday and there’ll be more Logies events next year.”
