Agnes Nixon, the late, great creator of the soap operas One Life to Live and All My Children, adhered to the narrative maxim “Make ’em laugh, Make ’em cry, Make ’em wait.” Fans of General Hospital may definitely be described as waiting as they await Mac’s discovery that Cody is his son. Josh Kelly and John J. York, who play their respective roles, recently spoke about it.
John J. York and Josh Kelly Meet Their Fans
In a recent conversation with Mac/Cody supporters at a Coastal Entertainment virtual event, York and Kelly discussed the secret eventually being public. The fact that Mac is Cody’s biological father is known by both Cody and the viewers, but Cody has been keeping that information a secret. After years of serving as Robin’s (Kimberly McCullough), Maxie’s (Kirsten Storms), and the late Georgie’s (Lindze Letherman) surrogate father, fans were curious how the actors felt about Mac learning that he has a kid of his own.
General Hospital: It’s A Boy!
Remember that neither actor can say whether or when Mac will learn the truth about having a son, but they did provide their thoughts on what fans might be able to anticipate. York says, “I think it’s going to be a surprise.” It is going to blow up. Boy, I predict there will be a conflict of emotions. York continues by saying that Mac will want to know why Cody has kept this a secret for so long.
There can be some bittersweet emotions associated with the revelation. In the end, York predicts, “I think it’s going to be a joyful thing.” “‘I’ve got a son,'” It’s unfortunate that [Mac] wasn’t there to show him how to ride a bike or shave. As viewers are aware, Dominique Taub, a former love of Mac’s, is the mother of Cody.

Kelly is equally excited to go into the substantive material that will probably play a significant role in the unveiling. I’m thrilled, Kelly says. “I’ve already discussed it with John. We’re growing more and more eager for it to occur. We’ll work incredibly hard to make it great for you guys.
