‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers suggests that Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) is going to try to do the impossible. She is going to try to broker a peace between her mother, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) and her uncle, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman). Will she be successful?

Diane Jenkins, the new wife of her brother, is detested by Ashley Abbott (Susan Walters). Because of all the ways that Diane has harmed her brother in the past, she believes that Diane is a bad person. She finds it hard to comprehend that Jack has reconciled with Diane and is now in love with her.

Ashley also thinks that Diane will ruin the Jabot business owned by her family. Diane was given the title of Chief Talent Officer by Jack. This signals Ashley’s impending doom and confirms her suspicions about Diane and her potential impact on Jack.

Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John), Ashley’s fiancé, is despised by Jack. He thinks Tucker is having an adverse effect on Ashley by persuading her to act against Diane and Jabot. He doesn’t think Ashley should be associated with the man who has so terribly wounded her in the past.

They both despise their sibling’s partner, and neither will relent. It is difficult to see how they might improve their relationship when they refuse to communicate effectively and compromise.

Ashley’s daughter, Abby Newman, wants peace in her family again. She is also throwing the wedding for Ashley and Tucker at the Chancellor-Winters mansion.

Though she is aware that Ashley and Jack must first mend their relationship before she can invite Jack, she still wants to be able to do so. She goes over to Jack to ask him if he would be open to speaking with her and Ashley.

What are your thoughts on this? Will Abby be able to mediate between Ashley and Jack? By recalling the memory of their father, their sister Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) attempted to do this, but little changed between them.
