Emmerdale fans are clamoring for a slew of show’s legends to return for the show’s 50th-anniversary celebrations.

The executive producers of Emmerdale are now putting together plans for a huge Emmerdale milestone. They’ve teased the return of several Emmerdale legends from the past, as we’ve previously reported.

Jane Hudson, the boss, verified this while also giving us a hint about what more is coming soon.

You can keep up with all the latest Emmerdale news and gossip by visiting our Emmerdale homepage.

“Our show’s most beloved characters will be put to the test in some major emotional stories,” she stated.

“Whatever happens in the 50th is going to have a major impact on us.” This trend will continue through 2023.”

We encouraged fans to post their wishlists on Facebook when the return of Emmerdale actors was confirmed.

So, take a look at the list below to discover which characters fans would like to see a return. It might also spark some thoughts for bosses.

Kelvin Fletcher starred in Emmerdale as Andy Sugden from 1996 to 2016, and since then he has won Strictly Come Dancing.

Danny Miller’s character, Aaron Dingle, left Emmerdale in 2021, leaving many fans heartbroken.

Stuart Wade portrayed Brian Ian Francis ‘Biff’ Fowler from 1994 to 1999; the figure reappeared in 2005 during Seth Armstrong’s funeral.

Paige Sandhu’s Meena Jutla was last seen fleeing the village when her homicidal secrets were revealed, but she’s promised to return for Emmerdale’s 50th anniversary.

Jamie Tate was another character that left Emmerdale in 2021, but some fans believe there is still more for Alex Lincoln’s role to be resolved.

Similarly, Emmerdale viewers are dissatisfied with the conclusion of Joe Tate’s storyline.

Anna Brecon’s character, Lady Tara Thornfield, originally featured in Emmerdale in 1997 and was last seen in 2007.

Kathy Glover, portrayed by Malandra Burrows, is an Emmerdale classic, and fans have been clamoring for her to return – she even made an appearance at Seth Armstrong’s funeral in 2005.

Ross Barton’s comeback has been rumored, but we’re not sure why fans would want to see the character played by Mike Parr return.

Emmerdale fans have also been clamoring for the return of Ross Barton’s brother Pete, who was played by Anthony Quinlan on the serial.

Emily Head’s Rebecca White was last seen fleeing the village with on-screen partner Ross Barton in 2018. Recently, there have been rumors that Ross, played by Mike Parr, would be returning to Emmerdale shortly.

Rik Makarem played Nikhil Sharma from 2009 to 2016, and the character appeared in 635 episodes.

It wouldn’t be a list without cries for the infamous Robert Sugden, who was last played by Ryan Hawley, to return to Emmerdale.
