The week of October 3 will see Brook Lynn in a slightly new appearance on GENERAL HOSPITAL, but she will still look quite recognizable. The role is once again being temporarily recast with Briana Lane stepping in for Amanda Setton, but this time it’s only for just one episode.

Lane had previously taken over for Setton back in 2020 when the actress went on maternity leave, but it was still an adjustment for her to walk back into Brook Lynn’s shoes! She received the call on Monday and reported to the studio to tape on Wednesday. “It was a wild 48 hours,” she told Soap Opera Digest.

After seeing some recent episodes of Setton as the role, Lane confessed that she also went back to watch herself from a couple of years ago. “Since it had been two years, I forgot what mannerisms I had and how I spoke, so that was really helpful,” she explained.

Working with Josh Swickard (Chase) once more was also incredibly beneficial in helping her adjust. “Josh, as a scene partner, always makes you feel like he has your back and because I had some nerves initially coming in so quickly, that just took away so much stress,” Lane admitted.

Even though it was just for one episode, Lane was thrilled to reprise the part that garnered her a Daytime Emmy nod for Outstanding Guest Performer during her last stay. She gushed about her experience, saying “my experience ranged from getting to play such a creatively fulfilling role from a legacy family to being nominated for an Emmy to being asked back with such welcoming arms.”
