In recent Coronation Street scenes, Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) was dealt a painful blow by future spouse Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank), which raised serious doubts about the future of their relationship.

Since receiving his MND diagnosis, Paul has struggled as his health has been failing more quickly than he had anticipated.

He wasn’t going to allow this, though, make him feel down as he got ready to celebrate Pride with his family.

Billy informed him that the occupational therapist had a cancellation and was on his way over to meet them, which sadly put a stop to his plans.

Paul became irritated as the meeting went on because Billy kept talking over him and preventing him from expressing his thoughts.

When the occupational therapist finally left, a full-fledged argument had broken out between the two.

After their argument, Paul entirely vanished, so frightened Billy went in search of him.

They eventually discovered a social media post from him indicating that he had attended Pride before witnessing him being led into the Rovers by several drag queens.

Paul later admitted that this vacation had not been as fun as it had first appeared. He said that he had fallen at Pride and was unable to get back up on his own.

The drag queens wanted to get him home securely after the incident, so they rode in the cab with him.

As the day came to an end, Billy sat down to speak with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) and revealed another revelation.

He admitted that he had feared that history would repeat itself and that Paul would end up having an affair with him while he was MIA.

He stated that if Paul weren’t sick, he probably wouldn’t still be with him after what he’d done and that he wasn’t sure how much more of the arguing and mistrust he could take.

The moment Paul stepped out of the shadows, Billy was horrified to see that he had heard him.

Billy tried to explain, but Paul urged him not to bother and to leave for his own good.

Is Billy and Paul’s friendship over now?
