Coronation Street's Bethany Platt star's life from 'waiting for proposal' to miscarriage

Since May 2021, football player Ryan Ledson and actress Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt on the ITV soap opera, have been dating.

After a three-year hiatus, Bethany Platt, played by Lucy Fallon on Coronation Street, has made her way back to the soap opera.

The actress, who starred in the series from 2015 to 2020, made the decision to come back in 2023 and will play a key role in a significant plot this year.

Outside of the spotlight, 28-year-old Lucy is romantically involved with Championship football player Ryan Ledson.

The couple became parents to their son, Sonny Jude, who was born in January 2023, after meeting on the celebrity dating app Raya in May 2021.

After returning to the cobbles, the ITV soap star opened up to Express.co.uk about her life.

Lucy has been hinting that she wants an engagement ring, and she acknowledged that she has sent Ryan videos of rings that she finds appealing on TikTok.

“I’m anticipating it… When I saw a nice ring, I sent him a couple TikToks,” she said, as reported by the Mirror.

“I feel like he’s just slotted into our lives perfectly,” she said. “He’s very laid back. We’ve been extremely fortunate with him, in my opinion.”

However, in order for Lucy to focus on her return to Corrie, the couple has put off plans for a second child.

She said, “I trust the producer and writers to bring her back and play out however [they see fit],” alluding to a potential new romance on the show. She might return carrying someone else she met—perhaps the love of her life—who knows!”

Lucy discussed being a mother in an interview with OK! Magazine last year. She disclosed: “There have been many tears shed throughout the journey, along with a rollercoaster of highs and lows.

“When Sonny was finally born, we were both sobbing – but happy tears.” When the couple had a heartbreaking miscarriage in March at seven weeks along the way, they initially kept the pregnancy a secret.

Before meeting their child, the new mother talked about her conflicted emotions of excitement and fear. “It was an awful, traumatic period,” she said in an interview with the Mirror last year. “We went for a scan and they couldn’t see anything, so then we went to the hospital and they thought they could see something, so it was very up and down.”

“I was feeling really sick and had pregnancy symptoms. What was even more shocking was that there were no indications that I had miscarried. We simply thought everything would work out. When I returned a week later, after they had completed the blood work and other tests, they informed me that I had miscarried. It was a very peculiar sensation.

“Even though it affects a lot of people, you never think it will happen to you. I had visualized this tiny individual who would enter our lives, and then they were taken from me. Dealing with it was truly awful, but fortunately Ryan was very encouraging.”
