When son Jai Sharma discovered Rishi Sharma dead at the foot of his stairs last week, it devastated the hearts of Emmerdale viewers.

The recent revelation by Rishi Sharma (Bhasker Patel) that Jai Sharma, played by Chris Bisson in Emmerdale, was actually the biological son of Amit Sharma caused a rift between the two.

Before Jai could make amends with Rishi, he passed away. He also missed seeing his son walk down the aisle.

Next week, as Jai starts to lash out at his family, letting his emotions get the best of him, the fallout from the tragedy unfolds.

Jai and Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) are visibly upset as they tell the kids about Rishi in scenes that will show tomorrow night.

Jai is distraught about Rishi’s passing and lashes out at Archie Breckle (Kai Assi), while Laurel sympathises with Suni Sharma (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana), who is broken over having left Rishi alone.

Jai informs Suni that he doesn’t care about the adoption and that he was his real father once he had calmed down and accepted talking to his family about Rishi.

Later, as Jai and Archie light candles around a picture of Rishi, an emotional Jai finally starts to process Rishi’s passing.

Dejected, Jai chooses to keep his true identity a secret from Laurel for the benefit of the family and their memories of Rishi.

Suni is soon confused when a frazzled Jai shouts at him after he begs him to call Amit to make funeral preparations.

When Tom King (Ken Farrington) shows up and gives them a USB with all of Rishi’s pictures on it, Jai struggles.

As the family gathers to go through Rishi’s digital images, they share memories of him and his legacy.

When will Suni begin to discover the truth?

He will be Jai’s biological brother; how will he react to that?

Although they are really close, would this cause them to become even more distant?

Thank you for watching Rishi throughout the years, Rishi actor Bhasker Patel said after the scenes aired.

“I consider it an honour to have participated in the event for 12 years. I have enjoyed it greatly and shall greatly miss it, especially my friends and my job in the lovely village of Emmerdale.

“We appreciate your interest. Be careful, Bhasker.
