The first synopses for Home and Away in 2022 have been released, giving us the first official details of what’s to come in the show’s return week.
On Monday, January 31st, Home and Away will return to Australian television screens. The show will air Monday through Thursday at 7 p.m., as has become customary in recent years, with a triple header of episodes on Thursday evening.
While UK viewers only had to wait a few weeks for the Summer Bay serial to return after the Christmas break, Australian viewers will have been without the show for more than nine weeks when it returns in nine days.
The first episode of Home and Away in 2022 will pick off just where it left off, with Mia (Anna Sampson) being chased by Cash (Nicholas Cartwright) as she tries to flee with Matthew’s (James Sweeny) body in her boot.
Meanwhile, when his and Ryder’s (Matt Evans) latest joke went bad, Ryder (Lukas Radovich) is stranded beneath.
As the return week goes on, Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams) will put his life on the line to save his girlfriend and step-daughter from jail, and Ryder will “say his final goodbye”.
There’s drama elsewhere, as Alf (Ray Meagher) asks Martha (Belinda Giblin) for answers before Roo (Georgie Parker) and Martha reach breaking point.
Summer Bay’s newest doctor may also face tragedy, as a secret kiss and the entrance of a “mystery woman” threaten to end Logan’s (Harley Bonner) and Mackenzie’s (Emily Weir) romance.
