“Happy birthday to my best friend.”

Home and Away star Patrick O’Connor has posted a cute tribute to his girlfriend and former co-star Sophie Dillman for her 30th birthday,

O’Connor, who played Dean Thompson on the Australian soap alongside Dillman’s Ziggy Astoni, shared a series of photos of the couple on his Instagram. In the pictures, the two are seen hanging out on the beach, enjoying drinks and being confused by penis-shaped menus.

“Happy birthday to my best friend,” he wrote. “I’m in awe of you everyday, how lucky this world is to have you in it. We love you to the moon and back. From the big dog (Winnie) & me xxx.”

Dillman’s former co-stars left birthday greetings for her in the comments along with a large number of admirers.

Sarah Roberts, who plays Willow Harris, tweeted “Happy [sic] birthday sweet @sophiedillman… we love you xxxx.”

Georgie Parker, who plays Roo Stewart, continued, “Happy birthday, gorgeous Soph. I hope that you are having a great time. Many blessings to you both.

According to Australian airdates at least, the two made their final appearance on the soap in March when the characters made the decision to relocate to Queensland so Dean could be nearer to his son Jai.

It was time to start a new chapter because “we both did everything we could with our characters,” Dillman remarked at the time.

It’s emotional and heartbreaking, but we recognize how fortunate we are to have had such an amazing run.

O’Connor continued, “It’s a huge commitment and a huge chunk of my life.” “I felt like I went through six different personas while we were there. Both as a performer and a person, there has been significant growth. Although it’s a fantastic place to work, I was prepared to go on.
