General Hospital Recaps: Scams, Disappointments & Destruction

The General Hospital recaps for August 14–August 18, 2023 include tense family relationships, protracted scams, malpractice in the medical field, and much more.

Betty (Ella Lentini) is caught in a trap set by Sonny (Maurice Benard). When “Eddie” (Wally Kurth), plays by Olivia (Lisa LoCicero), he shows concern for her well-being, Olivia is encouraged. It’s challenging for Carly (Laura Wright) to explain her recent behavior to Josslyn (Eden McCoy), Sonny, or even to herself. Dante (Dominic Zamprogna), after speaking with Anna (Finola Hughes) about the destruction of her home, assigns a police officer the task of verifying Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) purported alibi.

Nina (Cynthia Watros) complains that Sonny and Ava (Maura West) are up to something when she isn’t allowed entry to Sonny’s penthouse. Betty obtains information on Pikeman that she believes to be accurate. Inconveniently, Portia (Brook Kerr) visits Curtis (Donnell Turner) in rehab. Chase (Josh Swickard) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) are put on the spot by Gregory (Gregory Harrison). TJ (Tajh Bellow) and Molly (Brooke Anne Smith) choose a surrogate.

Betty savors her alleged victory. On behalf of Sasha (Sofia Mattsson), Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs) requests a restraining order against Cody (Josh Kelly). Sasha’s hallucinations are being made worse by Dr. Montague (Darin Toonder), who also arranges for a suspicious nurse to be removed from Sasha’s detail. Sam (Kelly Monaco) sneaked into Ferncliff at Cody’s request to observe Sasha’s deteriorating condition firsthand. Selena (Lydia Look) says she’d like to buy The Savoy. She makes the offer, but neither Curtis nor Marshall (Robert Gossett) accept it.

Cody put on a show in an effort to be sent to Ferncliff. Molly deliberately keeps Kristina (Kate Mansi) away from a gathering where she and TJ reveal they have found a surrogate. Tracy (Jane Elliot) confessed to Brook Lynn that taking control of Deception was her ultimate goal after being showered with drinks. While he is taking care of Violet (Jophielle Love), Gregory begins to experience symptoms.

Cameron Mathison’s character Drew (Sonny) is offered to be freed from Pentonville. Carly decides to take him up on it despite herself. As do Kristina and Molly, Tracy and “Eddie” disagree. Gregory informs Finn that he has ALS. When Anna’s townhome was set on fire, Valentin lied to her about where he was. Dante informs her of this.
