Drama never goes away in Summer Bay, as all fans of Home and Away are aware, and although last week’s wedding of Leah and Justin may have been a sweet occasion, not everyone’s stories end happily.
The episode that airs tonight teases Tane Parata’s (Ethan Browne) tale of abducting baby Maia from the hospital. Tane found the abandoned youngster in the Bay’s sand dunes and they instantly clicked. Tane began looking into foster care possibilities, but discovered he couldn’t take care of the child because he didn’t have Australian residency.
Another dramatic turn of events occurred when Tane was denied access to the hospital to say goodbye to baby Maia after a new foster home was found for her. As a result, nurse Dana had to sneak him into the hospital to say goodbye after Tane was hauled out on an AVO following a confrontation with an inquisitive journalist. You guessed it: he carried Tane off into the night after Dana left her by herself with the infant.
Tonight’s episode seems to be a case of karma coming full circle for Tane, as the show teases an Instagram post titled “Breaking News” that details Tane’s illicit activities. Except that devotees of Home and Away can’t resist cracking the same joke repeatedly.
Tane’s kidnapping storyline turns thirsty
The fact that Tane, or rather actor Ethan Browne, is incredibly attractive is hardly news. Therefore, even though it may have been illegal for him to kidnap Maia, many Home and Away supporters don’t seem to mind.
They probably wouldn’t mind at all if Tane did them any criminal harm.
The Instagram comment section tells a different story from the show’s “news update,” which claimed the kidnapper had been located and urged Summer Bay residents to contact the Yabbie Creek police station.
Someone exclaimed, “That’s one handsome kidnapper.” Another user said, “Tane can kidnap me anytime, lol,” and another said, “Wish Tane would kidnap me!”
Another hungrily enthusiastic fan commented, “I hope it finishes with him asking to marry me, hehe. Another person said, “Cute and naughty.”
In addition to being hot for Tane, some fans are pleading with the man to have some positive news in his life following his split with Felicity and his apparent collapse, which may result in jail time.
Someone begged, “Poor Tane…give this guy a good ending.” Another person said, “I hate that they have done this to him; he deserved so much more.”
