Best known for his role as Mali in the Australian serial opera Home and Away, Kyle Shilling recently shared some intimate information about his personal life in response to trolls making fun of him.

After being made fun of for his appearance by internet trolls, a well-known actor from Home and Away has acknowledged having health problems.

The Australian actor Kyle Shilling, who plays the attractive Mali in the Channel 5 series, opened up on Instagram on Friday, March 22, about his health issues. He informed his followers in the message that an auto-immune condition had been identified in him.

Shilling, who has been a cast member since 2023, said he was compelled to discuss his health issues when a number of viewers voiced concerns about his facial hair. The actor, who made history as the first indigenous star on the show, noted that the ailment caused him to grow facial hair.

“For all those Home and Away fans complaining about my beard line,” he said in the post. I was just diagnosed with alopecia in the area of my neck and beard.

He went on, “Alopecia is a disorder that causes hair loss and can be brought on by stress. “The Home and Away makeup artists try their hardest to conceal this newfound “insecurity” in me.”

Shilling acknowledged that “for now it is what it is,” but added that he is undergoing treatment to help prevent the illness from spreading to other areas of his body. Kyle added that he didn’t want people to feel sorry for him, but rather to raise awareness about alopecia and the effects it may have on those who have the disorder.

Since December of last year, Kyle has been a cast member, playing the part of Mali Hudson. When the handsome actor revealed that he would be joining the cast more regularly, he beamingly expressed his happiness.

It’s official, gentlemen and ladies. He exclaimed, “I’m thrilled to be a part of the incredible family and crew of Home and Away,” after accepting the new role.

Although the precise type of alopecia Kyle has never been identified, alopecia is a general disorder that can afflict anyone. Alopecia areata is one kind of alopecia, the medical word for hair loss, which is brought on when the body starts to assault healthy hair.

There is currently no known treatment for alopecia areata, and medical professionals are unable to predict a patient’s exact hair loss at the onset of the condition. More encouraging figures, however, show that there is a 60–80% likelihood that the hair will regrow in the areas where it had fallen out, albeit considerably thinner than before.
