James is forty-six years old, having been born on October 21, 1975. While he was raised on the Gold Coast, he is actually from Melbourne in Victoria.
Nicholas, his identical twin brother, is also his brother.
While raising them, his mother Beverly was pursuing her education to become a teacher.
According to James, his father Arthur Koo was drafted into the army in 1969 and served in the Vietnam War.
How did James get into acting?
The multi-talented actor began his career in music in 1996 when he joined the band George together with his brother Nicholas, Tyrone Noonan, and Katie Noonan.
But he quit the band to devote all of his efforts to his acting profession.
James made his stage debut in 2007 as Jim O’Connor in The Glass Menagerie, a production of the Queensland Theatre Company.
For his work, he was named the 2008 Matilda Award winner for Best Supporting Actor.
Alongside his siblings Tori Morgan (Penny McNamee), Brody Morgan (Jackson Heywood), and Mason Morgan (Orpheus Pledger), the actor debuted on Home and Away in 2015 as Justin Morgan.

He and his ex-partner Jessica Marais have a daughter together. In 2009, the ex-couple got together on the set of the television show Packed To The Rafters.
They announced their split in 2015 after five years of engagement.
After the birth of their daughter, he gave up acting to become a stay-at-home parent while Jessica traveled and worked in Australia.

Indeed, James is wed to Sarah Roberts, his previous co-star.
Between 2017 and 2021, they collaborated on the soap opera Home and Away, where she played Willow Harris.
In December 2018, they declared their engagement, and they were married at Dublin’s Luttrellstown Castle.
Sarah clarified that her brother and mother reside here, thus they had to travel to the other side of the globe to conduct their wedding ceremony.
