EXCLUSIVE: Home and Away’s Kyle Shilling opened up on the close bond he shares with Shane Withington, revealing the veteran actor ‘reassured’ him during his first days on set

Kyle Shilling, a star of Home and Away, is close friends with Shane Withington, who assisted him when he first started working on the serial opera.

Mali Hudson is a character played by the actor who joined the cast in January. John Palmer is a character played by 64-year-old Shane since 2009.

Kyle acknowledged that their connection on-screen is the same as their bond in real life after Dean Thompson’s (Paddy O’Connor) leave earlier this year. John met a new friend in Mali.

Kyle only had one response when asked who his on-set close friend was, saying, “Shane Withington – John Palmer.

“The relationship you see on television and in movies doesn’t really differ from what it is in real life. He is such a wonderful man. He is simply so sincere.

When Kyle first joined the Australian soap opera, he recalls feeling “overwhelmed” by his workload and how Shane was a key character at the time.

“He’s taught me a lot,” the actress continued, “especially on my challenging days when I was just getting started and there were many days when the quantity of work I had left me feeling completely overwhelmed.

“I had never worked in the film or television industry before my current job on Australia’s fastest-moving TV show.

And he was constantly encouraging us that we were all here because we could do it. He is such a real guy. The actor acknowledged that they had also been able to smuggle elements of their friendship from real life into their soap opera scenes. Kyle revealed that he and the other had a shared handshake. “One day, we had the idea, ‘Let’s put this handshake on here and see what happens.'”

We shook hands quickly without giving it any thought, but when I saw the scene afterwards, they had zoomed in on the handshake.

The TV personality continued, “So I thought, ‘Okay, this is staying. Therefore, we will continue to do that moving forward. But still, he’s simply amazing.
