Matt is around 25 years old and celebrated his birthday on 19 August. He was born and raised in Western Australia.
He continued his education at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) after graduating from high school.
He earned a Bachelor of Contemporary Music in Voice after four years of study.
Before gaining his big break, Matt worked as a tradesman forklift driver and was a member of the band Atlas Chasers.

Matt played his first ever acting job in the soap opera Home and Away.
At the age of 23, he previously competed on The Voice Australia, where he placed in the top 20 and was coached by the singer Delta Goodrem.
Is Matt single?
Yes, Matt recently shared that he was single and that there was no one “on the horizon”.
Although he writes many love songs, he explained that he hasn’t had many girlfriends in the past because he doesn’t fall in love easily.
After he and Felicity Newman co-star Jacqui Purvis moved in together, fans speculated that the two may have been dating.
But Matt was quick to point out that he was actually single.
She said they had a “blast” living together and that they are just good friends and roommates. She also called him one of her favorite persons in the entire world.
Jacqui even put together a special birthday celebration for Matt last year as they marked his 25th birthday and her first appearance on Home and Away on the same day.
