Home and Away's Patrick O'Connor pens an emotional birthday tribute to girlfriend Sophie Dillman after the pair left the soap together: 'In awe of you'

They left the famous soap they met on to travel the world together.

And it’s apparent that former Home And Away stars Patrick O’Connor and Sophie Dillman, who played couple Dean Thompson and Ziggy Astoni on the show, are still very much in love.

On Tuesday, Patrick posted an emotional and gushing tribute to his girlfriend on her 30th birthday.

Sharing a carousel of photos of their adventures together, Patrick wrote: ‘Happy birthday to my best friend.

‘I’m in awe of you everyday, how lucky this world is to have you in it. We love you to the moon and back.

Friends and fans of the couple jumped to the comments to wish Sophie a happy birthday.

Sophie’s former Home And Away colleague Georgie Parker commented: ‘Happy birthday beautiful Soph. Hope you having the time of your life. Lots of love to you both.’

The couple both left the hit TV show earlier this year to travel Europe together.

And they plan to stay on the other side of the world, with Sophie hoping to start a theatre career in the UK.

Sophie and Patrick have been to Italy, Scotland, Ireland, and Portugal since leaving Australia in January.

The couple currently has no intentions to create a family, according to Sophie, who recently updated fans on her endometriosis battle.

I evidently have to consider my eggs dying now that I’ll be 30!

But I am aware that there won’t be any room for impromptu travel if I begin a reproductive journey at some point. We essentially played someone else for a very long time instead of ourselves. Right now, all we want to do is travel.
