The soap star became a fan favourite when he made his Home and Away debut in 2011, the leader of the River Boys, Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton, who arrived in Summer Bay to cause trouble

Fans of Home and Away will never forget Steve Peacocke’s portrayal of Darryl ‘Brax’ Braxton.

The protagonist, who arrived in Summer Bay with his two younger brothers, Heath and Casey, was the head of the River Boys.

In real life, he has a much more normal life with his wife of nearly ten years Bridgette Sneddon.

How old is Steve and where is he from?

Steve was born on 30 October 1981, making him 41 years old. He is originally from Dubbo in New South Wales, Australia.

The soap star studied communications at the University of Newcastle. While there he took a drama class taught by Glenn Hazeldine, who encouraged him to take up acting.

During his twenties he took on different labouring jobs, including unloading freight trucks and working as a jackaroo for $3 an hour which is a person who works on a sheep or cattle station.

What show has Steve starred in?

After signing on to Home and Away in 2011, when he played Darryl “Brax” Braxton, the captain of the River Boys, Steve had his big break.

He made his final performance in Summer Bay in 2016, and after that he co-starred with Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the 2014 production of Hercules as Stephanos.

In 2016’s Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, he played Nic opposite comedian Tina Fey, and in 2016’s Me Before You, he played Nathan, a medical assistant opposite Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones.

He left for Hollywood and then came back to Australia. He has loved having extended television roles.

Between 2019 through 2023, he played Ben Chigwell on Five Bedrooms. He is currently acting in The Newsreader and RFDS: Royal Flying Doctor Service, where he plays Rob Rickards and Pete Emerson, respectively. In 2021, he appeared on both shows.

Who is Steve’s wife?

Bridgette Sneddon is an actress who is married to Steve’s wife. She played Sophie Taylor in Home and Away as well.

She played the wife of Dr. Nate Cooper in the television series from 2014 to 2015.

She created considerable issues for Nate and several of his friends while she was on the show after triggering a fatal bus crash.

Long before she made her soap opera debut, the couple began dating. When they came into contact, they were both attending the University of Western Sydney.

When did they get married?

Steve married Bridgette in a private ceremony on 24 December 2014 after getting engaged on 7 March 2014.

The pair had been dating for nearly a decade when they tied the knot.

Steve called it the “best day” of his life after getting a reverend from the Southern Highlands in Australia to officiate.

They were surrounded by their friends and family with Steve sharing his wedding band is the only jewellery he’ll ever have.

Do the couple have children?

It was reported that the couple welcomed their first child last year. Bridgette was seen in June 2023 with their daughter enjoying a day out together in Broken Hill, New South Wales.

Steve and his family temporarily moved to the small town in order to film the latest season of RFDS: Royal Flying Doctor Service.
