The role that made Shane Withington famous on Home and Away was that of a local businessman named John Palmer.
The actor made his television debut in 2006 as a pilot named Colin Page, which ran for seven episodes.
In spite of this, he returned to the show to portray lifeguard and company owner John Palmer.
The character has portrayed a number of dramatic tales, including his turbulent romance with Marilyn Chambers, his adoption of his son Jett James, and his marriage to Gina Austin, the high school administrator of Summer Bay.
Although Shane prefers to travel by yacht in real life, John is often spotted driving around on his golf cart along the shore.
He previously revealed that he sails the gorgeous 31-foot Beneteau sailing yacht to work.
Shane loves to fish from his boat in his spare time, whether he’s relaxing on Sydney seas or commuting to work.
It is fully stocked with everything he needs, such as towels, mooring gear, life jackets, and logs detailing his sailing adventures.
He has plenty of space to relax above deck, but he also has a large stateroom below deck for when he spends the night aboard the yacht.
