Louisa Lytton, who played Ruby Allen on EastEnders until she left the BBC series in 2021, isn’t ruling out a comeback.

In 2005, Ruby made her first appearance in Walford and remained there for a year before leaving.

She came back in 2018 and got embroiled in some terrifying plotlines, one of which dealt with consent.

However, two years later, Louisa has hinted that character Ruby might possibly return to Albert Square. Louisa departed EastEnders before the birth of her daughter Aura, whom she shares with husband Ben Bhanvra.

She stated in an interview with OK! Magazine that a comeback was “definitely” conceivable from a plot perspective.

Storywise, I could do that without a doubt. Louisa said, “There might be a kid waiting to turn up in Walford because Ruby was pregnant [when she left].

James Bye, who at the time played my husband Martin Fowler, is still a part of the show. Who knows, then? Since I got my start in EastEnders and fell in love there, I’d never say never.

However, Louisa recently disclosed her upcoming project outside of the Square, so her comeback might not happen right away.

The actress will play Jenny in the UK tour of 2:22 A Ghost Story beginning in September.

Louisa announced her new job on Instagram, and other EastEnders actors flocked to the comments to express their excitement.

Tamzin Outhwaite and Balvinder Sopal both posted applauding emojis, while Lola Pearce actress Dannielle Harold wrote, “I can’t tell you how excited I am for this.”

James Farrar, who plays Zack Hudson, commented, “Yessss Lou,” and Milly Zero, who plays Dotty Cotton, “Congrats Lou.”

Could Louisa be returning to EastEnders following her performance in 2:22 A Ghost Story? All we can do is wait and see.
