Jay Bruno, Sam Frost’s ex-boyfriend, has confessed that he was the one who ended their relationship after only a few months of dating.
The 34-year-old personal trainer told The Daily Telegraph that his relationship with the 32-year-old former Home and Away star ‘simply didn’t work.’
‘It is pretty simple, I just guess I couldn’t see a future with her,’ he said.
Sam’s character Jasmine Delaney was ‘temporarily’ written off Home and Away in November, and the couple dated for a few months before divorcing.
The Bachelor star-turned-actress later quit the show altogether.
Jay, who previously shared a Sydney townhouse with Sam, has recently moved to Melbourne.
‘It’s never easy to stay friends with someone you dated, and I broke up with her, so I don’t think it’s fair for me to linger about and confuse her,’ Jay explained, adding that he kept his distance’ from Sam to prevent ‘leading her on.’
Ellyn McCartney, a model, and influencer from Melbourne confirmed he had moved on with the Instant Hotel star.
‘She’s probably the only girl I’ve ever met who is funnier than me, so well done to her,’ he remarked of the stunning brunette.
In a peculiar twist, Jay is prepared to compete in the upcoming season of Australian Survivor: Blood vs Water against Sam’s younger brother Alex.
Jay, who is from Melbourne, was first reported to have moved into Sam’s townhouse in Sydney’s inner west in September.
‘They were just friends,’ Sam said at the time, but insiders close to the duo stated ‘their relationship had taken a romantic turn during the lockdown.’
In July, the former Bachelorette revealed she was single to Fitzy and Wippa, and joked about hunting for a man to join her in the singles bubble during the lockdown.’
Dave Bashford, a naval diver, was her last boyfriend before Jay.
Before hooking up with the soap star, Jay dated model Leah Johnsen until late 2019.
In 2019, Jay and Leah starred as a couple on Season 2 of Channel Seven’s Instant Hotel, where they transformed a run-down home into a lovely vacation rental.
