Many fans are speculating that since Danny is returning, he might pick up where he left off with Christine. Paul William and Christine never officially divorced, thus technically they are still married. But if Christine develops a new relationship with Danny, the show’s creators could need to bring Doug Davidson back for one or two episodes to put an end to their relationship. Otherwise, she’s going to struggle greatly to advance, whoever she ends up being with.

The length of Michael’s stay in Genoa City is currently unknown, but according to Soap Opera Digest, he will return on September 28 for a multi-episode arc. Even back in March, the actor stated that he would be open to returning to The Young and the Restless whenever his schedule would permit. Back then, he declared, “I can make Y&R happen as long as I’m not working on another movie abroad.”
