‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) Has Finally Had It with Her Mother

‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicates that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) has finally had enough. She was forgiving and so thankful when she found out that her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was alive. But now she is seeing clearly that her mother doesn’t intend to change.

Summer, along with everyone else in Genoa City, believed the Phyllis died and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) killed her. Phyllis faked her death with the help of ex-con, Jeremy Stark (James Hyde). Then they pinned it all on Diane, who was arrested.

Phyllis watched her children lamenting her when she went to her own memorial ceremony in secret. She came to the realization that she didn’t want to be with them forever. Stark attacks her and attempts to kill her when he understands that she wants to leave and will try to blame everything on him. Everyone already believes she is dead, after all.

In self-defense, Phyllis fights back and kills him. Phyllis tries to dispose of the body rather than reporting the incident to the police right away and claiming coercion and self-defense. Then, after sneaking around, she appears in Genoa City where she meets Summer.

The fact that Summer is still alive shocks and pleases her. She wants her mum to be free to come back without being charged. Shouldn’t be with her

Summer is just so thankful that her mother is back, and she doesn’t want her to face any prison time. Phyllis is apologetic and says she needs to make amends for all that she put her children through. She says that she wants to change.

Michael Graziadei, who plays Daniel Romalotti, Summer’s brother, believes that his mother should be made to pay for her mistakes. Summer has never agreed with Daniel since she doesn’t want to see her mother go to jail. Even though Phyllis’ decisions cost Summer everything—including her marriage—she has made an effort to be forgiving.

Finally, Summer recognizes Phyllis’ deceit. Phyllis has been negotiating deals with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John).

This shows to Summer that her mother isn’t really making an effort to follow the straight and narrow. She is now aware of how egotistical her mother is, even attempting to engage in shady transactions to avoid jail time.

Summer finally concurs with Daniel and marches away from her mother. Do you believe that Summer and Phyllis will be able to mend fences? Or will the mayhem and drama just keep coming?
