Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) and Tane (Ethan Browne) find comfort in one another this week on Home and Away as they recuperate from the ordeal Anne (Megan Smart) put them through after the chemical assault. Felicity, however, ends up having the wrong impression when Tane pulls away when she tries to kiss him, making her feel ashamed. Do they no longer have a chance to reestablish their friendship?

As Chloe’s (Sam Barrett) biological father Matthew (James Sweeny) arrives in the Bay and demands to see his daughter, Mia (Anna Samson) is outraged and terrified. Ari (Rob Kipa-Williams) becomes skeptical of Mia as a result of her increasingly shady behavior, and he won’t leave until something is resolved. When Matthew hears Irene (Lynne McGranger) chatting to Chloe just as they’ve come to an agreement, he realizes his daughter is standing directly in front of him.

Bella (Courtney Miller) is working hard at her new job in Salt, but she keeps making mistakes. For example, she frequently drops food, gives clients the wrong order, and serves alcohol at the bar without the proper training. Dean (Patrick O’Connor), who has observed how miserable she appears, believes she would be relieved to learn she has been fired; nevertheless, his strategy backfires when he tells her the news and she sobs.

Felicity is humiliated when Tane rejects her kiss

In the aftermath of the chemical assault, Tane and Felicity find their way to one another and end up walking together. They fall asleep in each other’s arms as Tane gets ready to depart and Felicity pleads if he may stay simply to keep her company. When he sees them together, Cash is not impressed and tells Tane to stop. Later, Tane promises Felicity that he would always be there for her. However, Felicity misinterprets his message and kisses him, which causes Tane to back away. Felicity, humiliated, escapes.

Matthew arrives in the Bay to meet his daughter

Mia has started receiving surprise calls and texts from Chloe’s biological father, Matthew, who she hasn’t spoken to in 20 years. She returns feeling refreshed after dodging the situation by bringing Chloe on a girls’ weekend getaway to the city, but as she and Ari descend the steps from Salt, she notices Matthew himself entering into the Surf Club. Mia is surprised and quickly finds an excuse to slip into Salt to avoid being seen by Matthew. However, how long can she keep this a secret from Ari and, more importantly, Chloe?

Marilyn is furious after Logan gives her a sneaky test

Irene enters the Beach House to talk to Marilyn about her job after she resigned, but Marilyn is content to sip wine, turn up the music, and keep reminding her friend that she won’t be returning. She has a brand-new business idea, and Ryder is forced to assist her in setting up a tarot card reading kiosk in the center of the beach. Irene requests that Logan examine Marilyn regardless of the circumstances as her worries grow. Later, when Logan comes in for his reading, Marilyn is excited to have her first client and joyfully charges him $60. Logan tests her memory with a series of questions as she prepares the cards. Before Marilyn realizes what he’s doing—testing her against her will without getting her permission—they get more pointed.

Leah and Justin are interrupted in bed by an unwelcome guest

After Justin’s painkiller addiction, his disappointment over Tori moving to London, and Christian and Theo moving in with them, Leah and Justin have lately been able to get their relationship back on track. The couple are happy to have the house to themselves as Theo leaves for a party and quickly make their way to the bedroom. But when they are sleeping, they hear rustling at the rear door. When the bedroom door opens and Marilyn pokes her head in with a sneer on her face and asks if it’s a bad time, neither Justin nor Leah can ignore the noise any longer, despite Justin’s best efforts to convince them that it’s simply possums.

Bella is devastated when Dean delivers bad news

Bella has been attempting to get a new job in the hospitality industry by convincing Mac to hire her as a waitress. She consistently forgets to take orders, drops food, and tries to sell alcohol without being properly trained, therefore it is unfortunate that this career path is not for her. Concerned about the repercussions of firing her flatmate, Mac gladly turns the position over to Dean. Dean is certain Bella will be thrilled to hear she’s been fired because she doesn’t appear to be happy working in Salt. Dean cheerfully breaks the news to her, but when she cries and collapses into the couch while sobbing, he and Ziggy are shocked.

Dean decides to try surfing again with painful consequences

Dean is back on his feet and working again after slowly but steadily recovering from the vehicle accident he was in with Nikau and Mia. He’s almost ready to drive, but he hasn’t given surfing any thought yet. But he hears the ocean calling to him every day, and Justin sees how uncomfortable he feels being confined to the land. Justin gives him some sound advice during a drink in Salt and that he practice on solid ground like children do while they are learning. Dean tries it out at home on the floor, but he collapses in pain as he tries to jump onto the board.

Leah departs for Cyprus after discovering VJ was in an accident

Fans may recall VJ from early-2018 episodes where UK scenes showed him escaping the Bay in a helicopter to avoid Irene’s stepson Mick after he attempted to take custody of his stepdaughter Luc. Leah receives a heartbreaking call informing her that her son has been in an accident and would likely be hospitalized for weeks. He and Ash have begun a new life in Cyprus with Billie’s kid. She quickly starts making preparations to fly out of the country.

Justin is surprised to have an unlikely house guest

When Justin receives a call from Leah, she needs to leave right away for Cyprus. Leah and Dean are conversing in Salt at the time. He acts quickly, takes her to the airport, and then heads back home. But he is caught aback when Marilyn appears in his kitchen and offers to make him a cup of tea. He is even more shocked by this. Before Justin addresses the obvious question of why she is there, she starts talking about how awful the call was when Leah learned about VJ and how he might be in the hospital for a while. Leah let Marilyn to stay in the house, so she and Justin will have some company. Marilyn then drops a bomb.
