The homage will feature Lisa Dingle and Zak Dingle, two iconic Emmerdale characters, in future scenes.

After the passing of actor Steve Halliwell, Emmerdale will present a heartfelt tribute to Zak Dingle.

Tragically, the 77-year-old Zak Dingle legend passed away in December 2023. Ever since 1994, he had been a mainstay in Emmerdale.

It has been announced that future sequences featuring Belle Dingle, the on-screen daughter, getting married to Tom King will feature a touching moment starring Zak Dingle. In the soap opera, Belle’s mother Lisa passed away in 2019, and Zak’s character is presently gone in Scotland.

The Belle actress, Eden Taylor-Draper, has discussed how Emmerdale will handle the parents’ absence from the large wedding.

“Belle finds this out pr

etty last minute that Zak is definitely not going to be there and has a freak out and says ‘Let’s call the wedding off’,” Eden Taylor-Draper explained. “His attendance means so much to her.”

However, Sam shows up with a letter from Lisa to give Belle away just as the wedding is about to start.

Eden stated, as reported by the Metro, “I don’t want to say what the letter says but Belle is given it just as she is going into the church.” “Sam has a letter from Zach to give to Belle. Before she went away, her mother Lisa composed it to be opened on the day of her marriage. Belle is unhappy when she receives the letter because it is overly sentimental and she feels that she is not ready to read it at this time.

It is unknown, as of yet, how Emmerdale will handle Zak’s exit following Steve Halliwell’s death. We will bring you more details when we know more.

Following Steve’s death, Emmerdale released a statement. It read: “It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that Emmerdale can confirm that Steve Halliwell, our beloved Zak Dingle, has peacefully passed away. All our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones through this very difficult time.”
